I kinda hoped the ring bearer would be a Roomba

I just got back from Bryan Adams’s wedding in Boston, and before you say “WTF??,” I’ll clarify that I’m referring to the Bryan Adams who just completed his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at M.I.T., not the internationally-known popstar/assclown. Many of you know Bryan as the ever-hilarious and thoughtful former blogger who very rudely quit writing earlier this year for the lame excuse that he was in the crucial homestretch of his doctoral dissertation, and if you don’t, I recommend dallying in his archives. Anyway, it was an absolutely lovely affair, Sonia was positively stunning in her bridal sari, and there was Indian food, so really it just couldn’t have been nicer.

Having met Bryan a few years ago through our respective websites when I lived in Boston, Aaron and I were part of the exclusive “Various Randoms” section of the guest list, meaning we knew not a single person in attendance other than the bride and groom. It was however quite a pressure-free way to enjoy a wedding, and I did get a very warm and friendly welcome from Bryan’s mom and sisters when they learned that I was “Evie from the blog” and we could connect faces to comment-box witticisms.

So that’s all I’ve got right now kids, I know I’ve been terribly poopie in the interesting department lately, as evidenced by the recent lack of comments by anyone who doesn’t live in my house. Bryan probably had the right idea in quitting when he was still a favorite stop on the blogosphere, but to do that I would have had to quit approximately two and a half years ago, and I can’t anyway because my mom would be pissed if I took away her one-touch method of knowing I’m still alive and functioning.

I’m hoping to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you advise starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for
a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused ..
    Any tips? Appreciate it!
